Flameflower

by EoB   Feb 12, 2006

Flameflower do I name thee,
for I saw thee in the dawn.
How fair, and yet so free,
thou blossom`d on the lawn.

Aflame thou seem`d `neath sunrise
and in the halflight, pale,
the sun beheld, and deem`d thee,
the light that shalt prevail

In awe, the moon shalt tremble
when gazing upon thee.
The stars above, assemble,
for, thee, alone to see.

But nay, I do not love thee,
thine blades, in summer, fair
shalt in the autumn, wither,
and fall into the air.
