Holding On

by Cindy   Feb 6, 2007

Not knowing day to day
What lays ahead for you
Waiting for your time to end
Is the hardest thing to do

I'm getting very tired
It's hard to stay awake
Everything is so uncertain
Leaving your life up to fate

Holding on to every moment
Every precious second of time
Not wanting to miss a minute
Being robbed at my prime

Wishing to still be living
When my grandson starts to school
Watching my grand-daughters growing
Life sometimes is so very cruel

Cindy, I can relate to this on a very deep level. My child is growing up before my very eyes and I just want to hold on and never let go, but I know that I must. It's just so hard. I have read several of your poems today and I like the way that you write, it is very poignant.

Passing time, unstoppable time, time that kills, but also gives happiness, makes us grow, be more mature... Good work!
