Why do i love you so?
when you use to beat me years ago!

i used to be so scared
waiting,hoping,wanting to believe that you cared,

couldn't you see,
see what you was doing to me?

spending all your money on alcohol,
while i set there with no food at all!

while my tummy turns and twist
i was wanting my mommy to be there to witness this

but she had left you along time ago
for the same reason i wanted to go!

but i could do nothing about it
at that time i was just a kid

i had no place to go
and now I'm older i must show

show you that there are no more cuts or bruises
with time passing by,

they healed on the outside,
but they will never heal on the inside!

and now that i think about it
i wished you wouldn't have pulled me out
as i fell asleep in the bathtub!

if only i had locked the door!
