Into The Abyss (acrostic)

by CJ Maleney   Aug 7, 2018

Incumbent dark seeks and envelopes my soul
No voice of comfort no hand to hold
To many thoughts jostle for space
One disappears just to be replaced

To many variables in this dimension
Here and now I wrack my brain
Even so! I have no comprehension

A heavy heart and a mind so weak
Black holes so ravenous that always seek
Yellow orbs won't warm this place
Sun cannot reach and won't illuminate
So I float in the abyss, and to darkness gravitate

Yeah it's pretty cool here and the members are a good bunch. Occasionally they have a minor falling out but things usually resolve.

      Glad you enjoyed the poem.

Fantastic job Craig.. Acrostics aren't easy at best of times but to make them rhyme and rhyme as well as you did... Well, it makes me. Speechless

      Hey up our Em.

Thanks for your comments. This was actually quite tricky as I won't normally try to rhyme anything that doesn't have an even number of lines in each stanza.

The first stanza was easy but the other two presented a little challenge. I'm especially not happy with the last. I tried various things and although they flowed better they didn't adequately convey what I wanted it to. So I opted for my first draft.
