My wealth of love

by Meena Krish   Dec 4, 2013

The tender hug
that feeds a fading heart
starves my aches with her absence,
a fading heart aches...

Her "I still love you" smiles
which softly slays anger
leaves behind pages of memories,
memories of smiles...

The iron clad woman
of unbending will power
with her silence homeless I've become,
homeless without her...

A beautiful mother
my wealth of love
left me a vast emptiness
where pregnant clouds linger,
lingering emptiness of love...

A fading heart aches
with memories of smiles
homeless I am without her,

A lingering emptiness
my wealth of love
softly passed away...

I'm with Ms. Sylvia, too. The emotions are portrayed well... It's really sad when our wealth of love is gone... We feel homeless and empty... But memories are treasures that will be kept inside our hearts... Great write :)) 5/5

So much emptiness. Someday will be filled with joy..I got carried away upon reading.

I'm also with Sylvia, the tone in the poem is evident but I like that the poem is written with such calm that it takes the reader in without them feeling overwhelm.

This stanza in particular stood out the most for me

    The iron clad woman
    of unbending will power
with her silence homeless I've become,
    homeless without her...

    - A reminiscing moment that makes me think she was your home, she was whom you live in per se.

    Take care
