Caught....

by Meena Krish   Jan 22, 2021

Your words, a frozen picture in the dark leaves my heart in the shadow of your memories,

Your smile, once a bed of welcome in a chaotic world now from a distance hurts
my eyes,

Flipping through the months we had
romancing with words and thoughts,
plague me with an insecurity...

that in your web my love is caught

The heartbreak of unraveling oneself from what was once a loving relationship...leaving only 'shadows of your memories'
Loss and sadness speak to me from this poem. A thoughtful write.

    Hello Meena,

I'm late to this particular party. Sorry!
Your poem is relatable. It reminds me of a love that burns bright, but with time and distance the hope fades, leaving the love 'caught' in the web of memories.
I realise that it's not written with meter in mind, but as I read, I felt the desire to regulate the words and rhyme. Also, is the word 'plaque' a typo for plague?

    Take care.

Beautifully penned poem of cloaked emotion. The heart can hide from the world all its thoughts and all its passion. Hiding it from all but the owner of the heart. It can ache behind your smile or sing behind your frown and no person is wiser to it’s truth. You captured the deep feelings in this write Meena. Good job
