Into the darkness (line by line palindrome)

by Brenda   Feb 7, 2021

Promise you won't let go-
when I slip into the darkness...
I need to feel you near
I need to feel you now
the undertow tugs
relentlessly as
I feel my fingers spasm
grasping at tearing cloth
the darkness has me
in its' grip
as the light goes gray-
I struggle for another day...

I have been in the darkness. Knowing there was an outstretched hand is what pulled me back. I relived that with this read. Thank you for sharing.

Brenda this is a heart warming piece. No matter how dark life becomes, knowing that there is someone near is always a comfort.

Aw Brenda. This feels like a desperate plea to a loved one to not be alone in death and it's heart wrenching whichever way round it's read which is very clever. Beautifully done. :-) x
