The cavity in my chest is filled with carbon.
But my eyes still leak shades of aquamarine...
It has not rained here in weeks
But I am drenched to the bone...
I place the palms of my hands
either side of the sink basin...
Each time you might fall
All broken and scarred...
They say we all dance with demons when night
falls and the lines between our worlds thin...
I
am lost...
What good am I if I’m just flesh and bone,
When I scare away everyone that’s mattered...
The ocean is fathomless and welcoming.
Arms outstretch above...
Caught in the whirlpool of life’s tide,
blue depths drag me under...
If you keep moving
you can't cry...
Some words are too heavy to share.

The young boy of five
On his birthday...
